Put Your Best Face Forward This Christmas

Christmas is right around the corner and your girls are coming home for the holidays, so you know what that means? Time to plan another girls night of course! We all wanna look our very best this holiday season, and serving sick holiday makeup looks always begins with good skin. Here are some of the best face masks to do during your holiday girls night!

 

 

 

For brighter skin…

Papaya Ultra Illumination Face Mask

One of our many gifts from us to you, this mask is gonna have your skin looking brighter, younger, and healthier. We love this mask for a lot of reasons, but the main one is that star ingredient: papaya! Papaya is one of nature’s exfoliators; it has AHA and helps to gently remove the top layer of dead skin from the surface -- you know, the one that’s making you look so dull -- revealing brighter, more youthful looking skin. It also has turmeric to help lighten acne scars and hyperpigmentation, plus ground almonds to add a physical exfoliator. There’s also tomato, to prevent UV damage (because UV protection is necessary, even in the winter!), and rosehip to even out the skin tone. I stan this mask because it really does help you achieve that lit-from-within look. One use of this mask and there was a noticeable difference in the appearance and texture of my skin. This is definitely a mask I’m gonna reach for before my next holiday party!

 

DIY Cranberry Yogurt Mask

You know we love a good DIY and what says “Christmas-y girls night” more than a brightening cranberry face mask? We love it because it has all the makings of a great mask: an antioxidant-rich fruit, hydrating yogurt, and soothing honey. Cranberries are packed with skin healthy antioxidants and minerals, and they also help brighten and even out the skin tone. Greek yogurt has lactose enzymes that help get rid of surface bacteria, while honey is antimicrobial and a humectant. With this mask, you get a brightening effect, plus hydration, plus protection from acne cause bacteria! This DIY mask uses only 3 ingredients, it’s super hydrating, plus it leaves your skin looking bright!

 

What you’ll need:

  • ½ cup of pureed cranberries
  • ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

How to make it:

In a bowl, mix all of the ingredients together, then apply it to clean, toned skin. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

 

For fighting pimples…

Two-Ingredient Cinnamon and Honey Mask

 

Breakouts and the holidays are two things that just don’t go together. This two ingredient cinnamon and honey mask is super easy to make and you probably already have both ingredients in your kitchen right now! Don’t underestimate its power though; it may only be two ingredients, but they’re packed with some serious power. Honey is a moisture magnet that also helps keep the skin’s surface squeaky clean and free from any nasty, acne causing bacteria. It’s also super nourishing and soothing, so it helps ease inflammation and can even reduce swelling. Cinnamon is an underrated acne fighter that also has some great anti-aging properties. It helps increase blood circulation, making fine lines disappear. It’s also a powerful antibacterial and it helps reduce even painful breakouts! You can use this mask all over or as a spot mask on stubborn spots. Either way, your breakout doesn’t stand a chance!

What you’ll need:

  1. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  2. 2 teaspoons of natural honey

 

How to make it:

In a bowl, mix the two ingredients until they’re fully incorporated. On clean, toned skin, apply the mask and leave it on for up to 15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and follow with moisturizer. Keep in mind that cinnamon can be a bit irritating to the skin. If you have more sensitive skin, try to use this mask only once a week!

 

For dry winter skin…

Chocolate and Oatmeal Face Mask

 

This wouldn’t be a holiday themed mask party without a little chocolate! Remember that whole myth they used to tell us that chocolate causes pimples?? Well, it doesn’t. Did they ever tell you that you can use it to actually hydrate your skin?? Now you can eat your chocolate and wear it on your face too! This mask is just as soothing as it is hydrating, since it uses oatmeal to slough off dead skin and calm the skin down. There’s also heavy cream for deep hydration, and honey for intense moisture and antibacterial properties. Cocoa powder is the star of the show here, though, and it’s there to help keep any skin irritation in check. You can kiss your dry, flaky skin goodbye!

 

What you’ll need:

  • ½ cup of cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

 

How to make it:

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together until they’re well incorporated. On clean, toned skin, apply the mask and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and follow with your moisturizer. You can do this mask once a week for the best results!
