Green Tea Length Strengthening Tea Rinse

You’re probably wondering, what exactly is a tea rinse?  Tea rinses are super potent and deliver results rather quickly. And of course, like all of our products, they’re 100% natural and non-toxic. This specific tea rinse was formulated with thin, shedding hair in mind. Each ingredient in the tea was carefully chosen to help rebuild and strengthen the hair from root to tip. Let’s get to know each ingredient a little better!

Green tea is the star here and that’s due in part to its abundance of antioxidants. People drink green tea because it’s better for you than coffee, has more caffeine than coffee, and is able to fight of free radical damage and oxidative stress. When it comes to our hair though, it’s known for its ability to stimulate blood flow to the scalp and increase hair growth. Green tea can also help with excess shedding by inhibiting the hormone that causes it. On top of everything else, it leaves your hair feeling extra soft. It’s almost magical what this stuff can do!

Black tea is similar to green tea in that it’s really high in caffeine, which as we know, it excellent for increasing blood flow. Black tea has a ton of antioxidants too, which help prevent free radical damage. Black tea prevents hair fall out too, just like green tea, by inhibiting the production of DHT, the hormone that causes it! Black tea has antibacterial properties to keep the scalp nice and healthy and free from infection. Plus, it imparts some pretty awesome shine!

Calendula, aka garden marigold, is rich in flavonoids and antioxidants. It’s been used in Ayurveda because of its anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties that help ailments like ulcers, menstrual cramps, and healing wounds. When it comes to our hair, though, these healing properties come in handy. Calendula is excellent for nourishing and moisturizing a dry scalp, plus it helps fight dandruff. It helps increase blood flow and collagen production in the scalp, leading to thicker, stronger hair!

Chamomile is so much more than a super-relaxing herb we drink in tea. While it can help relieve symptoms of anxiety, upset stomachs, and trouble sleeping, this herb is known for its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It helps soothe scalp irritation and can help get rid of dandruff. Chamomile tea also helps deeply moisturize and nourish the hair, and give it some serious shine. It can also help stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp and it helps keep the hair healthy down to the follicle.

Comfrey is an herb that’s often been used to treat stomach ailments like ulcers. It’s also great for the hair because of its high vitamin A content. Comfrey has tons of minerals and antioxidants that help fight and repair free radical damage. Plus, it increases blood circulation! We added it to this tea rinse because of its ability to help stimulate hair growth!

Sage is another herb that’s used for digestive problems. It’s also great to burn in your space to keep away bad energy! Other than that, sage has some serious antibacterial properties. So much so that traditional medicine doctors would burn it around their sick patients to prevent any disease from spreading. In terms of what it can do for our hair, sage is another growth stimulating herb. We love it because it adds some intense shine to the hair.

Red clover is a pretty, flowering herb with some really strong medicinal properties, like improving heart health. Red clover is great for reducing inflammation on the scalp and is a pretty effective dandruff treatment. It helps keep the hair soft and manageable, too. Above all though, it increases blood flow to the scalp, which helps with hair growth.

Hops, aka the stuff that’s in beer, is actually pretty great for the hair. The antioxidants in hops help protect the hair and give it a shine. Hops also helps decrease hair fall out by getting rid of the dead skin on the scalp and opening up the pores. It’s also a super effective dandruff treatment because of its antibacterial properties. Who knew that beer could be so great for our hair?!
